AmeriCorps is the domestic version of the Peace Corps. Academy Prep’s AmeriCorps teachers are generally recent college grads who want to give a year or more of service to nonprofit organizations. Academy Prep is looking for dedicated, passionate teachers to join our team. AmeriCorps teachers will plan, organize and implement an instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their potential.

 

NO TEACHING CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

 

ALL MAJORS CONSIDERED

AmeriCorps Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-teaching supplementary academic classes (includes lesson planning and classroom management.)


- assisting in academic classes


- planning and teaching extra-curricular activities

- serving breakfast, lunch and snacks


- supervising students in free time and recess


- providing office and administrative support


- supervising students in study hall


- supervising Saturday field trips


- substituting in academic classes


- monitoring late pick-up students

 

 

Compensation:

 

Live on campus in beautiful, clean, furnished apartments.


Receive FREE rent and utilities.


Receive an annual stipend of $15,300.
